The design concept was inspired by the client’s love of graphics and color. Reddymade used the client’s personal collection of art as well as bright hues to define areas within rooms, also to distinguish one from the other.  For instance, in the white kitchen, the firm installed a movable red bar on the island. It slides in and out of the kitchen island to turn what is usually the family space into a place for entertaining. Kate Shepherd designed a color-block, wall graphic to define the dining area within the open living space.

Reddymade went bold in the bathrooms using black and white graphics. In the master bathroom, inspired by line drawings belonging to the client, we did a series of horizontal black lines across a white background. The powder room has a contemporary black and white toile that depicts a modern-day superheroine. The twins’ bathrooms are almost a mirror copy of each other using the same black and white penny round tiles on the walls and floors.
