140 Manhattan Avenue Townhouse

Architecture, Interior Design, townhouse —

This landmarked Upper West Side Townhouse is located in the Manhattan Valley neighborhood. It was originally built in 1905 as a 2-unit three-story building with a basement and rooftop. The clients asked us to do a full gut renovation to modernize the interior architecture while combine the two units into a single-family home.

Now the 2770 square foot townhome features sizeable new windows, flooring and millwork. The main floor houses the modern kitchen with a waterfall design island highlighting the patterned quartzite. Windows span the length of the rear wall in the kitchen looking out onto the ivy and brick siding with a garden below.

The second floor is divided between the master suite and home office. The 700 square foot master suite features a shared walk in closet, double vanity, soak tub and shower. The third floor is divided between two generously sized children’s bedrooms with a shared bath.
